Welcome

New Winter Structure!

During the winter months, it will be a regular drop-in from 6-7 but from 7-8 will be a planned activity, whether it's just a discussion, movie or some games but anyone staying past 7pm will be expected to participate. From 8-8:30 will be time to hang out and chill but we will closing down at 8:30 for the winter months.

Surrey Youth Alliance is a drop-in and support group for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, two-spirited, queer, questioning, and straight (I think that's all of them...) youth between the ages of 14 and 21 in the Fraser Valley and surrounding area. There's really no limit on where you have to live to show up.

If you are 22+ and wish to be a part of S.Y.A, maybe you would consider a Volunteer/Mentor/Peer position at the Drop-In.

We meet every Wednesday in Surrey, at the Newton Youth Resource Center on King George Highway and 76th Ave. If you're thinking about coming to a drop in, more information on the location (including directions), dates, and times and be found on the right.

We invite youth of all orientations to visit a drop-in sometime.

How to find us:

The Newton Youth Resource Center is located at 13479 76 Ave, in Surrey, BC.

We're just across the street from King's Cross Shopping Center, to the right of the Canadian Tire. Just follow 76th Ave up until you hit a big blue sign on the right-hand side of the street that reads "Platinum Athletic Club". Head in to the parking lot, and the Resource Center is the farthest building in the complex.

Young Volunteers Needed!

Our own Jen & Sylvie are doing a research project on young people that are involved in gay activism in Surrey, whether it's through a GSA at school, SYA, Surrey Pride or helping out in you're own way. If you think you've contributed to the gay community in one way or another they may just want to ask you some questions. For more information, click here.
